Camel Safari in Ladakh Camel Safari in Ladakh is one of the
most popular safaris in the Ladakh region. The popular notion
is that camels are the 'ship of the desert' and are to be found
only in the desert like the Thar in Rajasthan. However camels
have been a chief mode of transportation in the freezing Ladakh
desert as well long since antiquity.
The best time for a Camel Safari in Ladakh is July to September.
An unforgettable experience amidst the sudden lush blossoming
of apricot woods among formerly ice-covered desert and chilling
peaks . Feast eyes on the picturesque beauty of Ladakh dales,
villages, especially Panamic village and multicolored Buddhist
monasteries or Gompas.
Day 1 : Delhi - Leh
Our representative will meet you on arrival at Leh Airport and
transfer you to your hotel. Evening is at leisure - if you wish
, you can shop at the local market. Overnight at hotel .
Day 2 : Leh
Sightseeing involves visiting ancient monasteries such as Hemis
Gompa, shay palace, stakna, Thiksey Monastery. Overnight at
hotel . Day 3 : Leh - Khardung La - Nubra Valley (125 km)
After breakfast, you will be driven towards Nubra valley via
Khardunga La (at 18,300 feet) - the highest motor driven road
in the world. On arrival at Nubra Valley, we will stay in tents.
After brief relaxation, we head for Deskit Gompa and it is back
to our camps. Overnight at camps.
Day 4 : Camel Safari at Nubra
After breakfast at campsite, we will go for Camel Safari. You
will enjoy exploring the rugged mountain terrain on camel back,
surrounded by beautiful landscape and passing through remote
villages, camping in tents and spending the night under the
stars.
Day 5 : Nubra Valley - Leh
After breakfast, we leave for Leh . In the afternoon we arrive
at Leh. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6 : Leh - Delhi - Departure
Morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive
to airport to catch the flight back to Delhi. On arrival at
Delhi, transfer to IGI airport to catch flight for onward destination.
